The much beloved children’s TV character, Oscar The Grouch (real name, Oscar Kevin Pretorius IV) is to launch a controversial new investigative podcast series, called ‘Open Sesame, Street?’ in which he goes down the felted rabbit hole of rumours that Grover has used the show to evade tax since 1978. At the time of writing, nothing has been proven, however The Grouch - who trained at the famous Juilliard School in NYC, but chooses to live in a bin, naked - has promised a spectacular climax to the series. “Critics say that this series will be garbage. But the joke’s on them because I love trash. That’s why I’m a huge fan of almost everything Barstool Sports makes”, he told TNPNN at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York. “What you have to realise is that the Sesame Street world is cut throat. Cookie Monster? Literally a monster in every sense. Some of the things I’ve seen him do to get ahead? Well, that’s probably series 2. Now scram!” The show will be produced by Crooked Media.

Richard Madeley, part-time presenter and full-time Alan Partridge fan, has just been announced as the new host of The Ambies 2027, which award excellence in podcasting. Madeley - most famous for presenting ITV’s This Morning and his wife’s breasts - has released a statement saying that he’s honoured to be a part of such a long-established institution. “The shindig has been going since 2021, so in podcasting terms, it’s practically a beautiful, green 1961 Jaguar E-Type. Monumental”, Madeley told TNPNN. “I’m going to butter [the audience] up and serve a slice of real broadcasting by sliding down their ear holes. Smooth, sophisticated. Nothing like whatever they do, I mean who even gives a rat’s arse, really?” Madeley denies rumours that the reason he’s hosting the event is to increase his dwindling profile, which in recent years has taken a downward turn due to economic conditions and the fact that he’s shit.

Apple have scooped ‘The Greatest Crime Against Culture’ gong at this year’s inaugural Mel Gibson Awards, held in central Texas, for the Apple Podcast app logo. “It looks like a ghost has dived into a pool of purple dye then shat itself”, one of the judges told TNPNN. And finally, in lighter news, Romesh Ranganathan - one the UK’s most prominent comedians - has announced that he will not be working at all this week. This marks the first time since June, 2008 that the current host of The Weakest Link (BBC), Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents Evening (ITV), For The Love of Hip Hop (BBC Radio 2/ BBC Sounds), Hip Hop Saved My Life (podcast), Wolf & Owl (with Tom Davis), The Romesh Ranganathan Show (Spotify), Would You Rather: Decide To Survive (Amazon), A League of Their Own (Sky), and touring with stand up, plus children’s book author, will have absolutely nothing scheduled in the diary. Despite this, however, Romesh has been spotted sneaking around back of the BBC’s One Show sheds, asking to record a couple of links.
